Chealsea and Liverpool out of Carling Cup

Chealsea and Liverpool, the current two top teams in the Premiership are both out of the Carling Cup competition after being beaten by Burnley and Tottenham respectively. Chealsea lost to Burnley at Stamford Bridge after the penalty shoot-out while Liverpool are comprehensively beaten 4-2 at White Heart Lane. Earlier, both Arsenal and Manchester United has reached the quaterfinal of the Carling Cup with aresenal crusing pass Wigan 3-0 with their young side, while Manchester United scrapping a 1-0 over QPR. Well, is it mean that Chealsea and Liverpool are now hot favourites for the Premiership Title since they now can have more time to focus on the Premiership league? Maybe, perhaps, but I believe if you ask Alex Ferguson, he doesn't mind of competing in all 4 competitions, the Carling Cup, FA Cup, Champion League and Premiership league.

It maybe still very early for the premiership league, but the current impressive run by both Chealsea and Liverpool has sparked various debate especially the potential of Liverpool to win the Premiership. As a dominant force in english Football of the 80's, I believe many Liverpool fan are waiting for the moment when Liverpool can win the Premiership League title. Chealsea, has been a revolutionized side after being bought by Roman Abromovich, the billionaire from Russia who injected the needed cash for footbal development. Arsenal, still looking for formula to repeat their triump last achieved in 2003/2004 season. Manchester United (Yeah.. I am a Manchester united fan), the reigning champions are beginning to find their usual rythm. With Sir Alex Ferguson managing the club, and with his impressive track record, I must admit that there has been so many times that he seems to be able to pull the rabbit out of the hat.

So, who will win the EPL 2008/2009 season? I guess we have to wait until next year to find out.....
