It is a long wait to hear the decision on the Pulau Batu Putih over the RTM 1... At first, I was thinking that we could win the dispute but then came the technical point which serve as the most important evidence in the case...
The ICJ noted that the strength of Singapore’s claim lay in a letter sent by the state secretary of Johor in 1953 to the Singapore government where he informed that "the Johore government does not claim ownership of Pedra Branca." It could not accept Malaysia’s argument that the state secretary did not have authority or legal capacity to disclaim or confirm ownership of the island, said Judge Awn Shawkat al-Khasawneh.
A loss is a loss, but at least we win the two remaining rocks, which may give so much differences in charting the Malaysia-Singapore border.. so we have lost the Island because of a letter that may be at the time it is written did not matter much.

But I believe there are lots and lots of things that can be learned from the issues. Taking the que from this decisions, there is a need to be very careful with the development in the Iskandar Malaysia region to make sure that Malaysia do not lost further.

I hope we dont sell IDR and then lost the sovergenity of South Johor
We lost the island because in 1953 we said it did not belong to us...
yes it is true that johor government do not claim ownership to the rock but it is not the Malaysian government... Johor may not claim ownership but Malaysia is not saying anything, even if Johor does not claim ownership of the rock, but still, Johor cannot act as the spokeperson for Malaysia... It is just a state belongs to Malaysia... So the dispute is that although Johor state does not recognise the rock as part of Johor, the government of Malaysia still consider it as part of Malaysia...
But anyway the ICJ has already give the verdict and we have to accept the decision... Just accept the decision and move on and may Iskandar Malaysia suffer the same faith as Pulau Batu Putih...
Perbicaraan tuntutan Pulau Batu Putih yang terletak 7.7 batu nautika dari Johor dan 25 batu nautika dari Singapura itu adalah hanya sandiwara untuk menutup kelalaian, kealpaan, kebebalan dan kedurjanaan pemimpin Melayu dan Pemangku Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Johor yang berkhidmat pada tahun 1953.
Aku mempunyai segala asas untuk mengatakan mereka telah dengan lalai dan relahati menyerahkan kedaulatan Pulau Batu Putih kepada Singaparu.
